Announcement: Film Screening "20 Days in Mariupol"
Once a beautiful and lively city, now Mariupol is synonymous with human tragedy. Numerous war crimes and thousands of casualties have proven the cruelty of the occupiers. For twenty days, The Associated Press journalists Mstyslav Chernov and Evgeniy Maloletka stayed in the besieged city, despite the life-threatening conditions, to document the truth about the inhumane war crimes. As the only international reporters who remained in the city, they captured what later became defining images of the war.
“20 Days in Mariupol“ was selected amongst the best documentaries of the year on many festivals and award ceremonies, including the Academy Award shortlist.
Vasilisa Stepanenko is a Ukrainian journalist and video producer. Worked as the Field Producer and team crew member of “20 Days in Mariupol“, and she will introduce the film.
The screening is organised as a part of the exhibition "ETH with Ukraine - Exchanging Knowledge for a Sustainable Future".
