Announcement: Coffee Lecture "Achtung: die Raumplanung / Attention: spatial planning – new collaborative spatial planning tools for Ukraine"
On the 25th of January, we are hosting the coffee lecture “Achtung: die Raumplanung / Attention: spatial planning – new collaborative spatial planning tools for Ukraine”. Ukrainian spatial planning is challenged by the combination of protracted reforms and impacts of the war, with the latter challenges demonstrating a dual character concerning time, scale, and management. Be it the tensions between pressing emergencies concerning some of the most fundamental human necessities and visions of a long-term, sustainable post-war renewal, the duality of micro-projects and meta-narratives, the coexistence of martial law’s centralizing forces and society’s informal, situational practices, all these demand multifaceted and adaptable planning methods. Based on experience from the Swiss culture of test planning in tackling complex spatial planning challenges and from a recent participative planning process in Vinnytsia, this presentation by a working group of the Swiss Network with Ukraine aims at discussing the possibility of a broader introduction of the test planning method in Ukraine.
