Announcement: Eco event 'Cry, My River', Nov 6
On November 6, as we mark the International Day for the Prevention of Environmental Violations in War and Armed Conflict, we invite you to join us for an evening of reflection and action dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of human-induced environmental degradation. For those unable to attend in person, an online broadcast and recording of the event will be available.
The evening will begin with an opening address by Marianna Yeleiko, Head of the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation. She will introduce paragraph 12 of the Declaration of Human Responsibilities, written by Professor Bohdan Hawrylyshyn, which urges us to: "Use all resources sparingly, avoid pollution of the biosphere. Help preserve biological and zoological diversity."
Afterwards, we are honored to the documentary film "Cry, My River", dedicated to the ecology of water bodies in Ukraine. Olesya Morhunets Isaenko, the director, will introduce the film, offering insights into her work and the critical importance of protecting natural water bodies.
After a brief intermission, a panel discussion will follow, featuring distinguished experts who will delve into the broader implications of environmental protection in times of conflict. The panelists will be:
- Olesya Morhunets Isaenko, Film Director
- Alina Piddubna, PhD, Delivery Director at the Ukrainian IT company "Intellias"
- Liz Olegov, Founder of Alex21 for Ukraine
- Richard von Groeling, Co-founder of Alex21 for Ukraine
The discussion will be moderated by Olena Melnyk, Honorary Professor at the Royal Agricultural University, England. Together, these experts will engage in an in-depth exploration of the evening’s themes, encouraging meaningful dialogue and fresh insights.
We look forward to welcoming you to this significant event, where we can deepen our shared understanding and commitment to protecting our environment.
