Announcement: Film Screening "Iron Butterflies"
On 17 July 2014, the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by the russian-controlled forces near Hrabove, Donetsk oblast. The missile attack took the lives of 298 passengers and crew.
The collage of archive material, news and social media clips, and dramatised and animated elements are presented in “Iron Butterflies“. Shown on numerous prestigious festivals, including Sundance and Berlinale, “Iron Butterflies“ provides a multi-layered investigation into the downing of flight MH17 - a war crime that remains unpunished.
Roman Liubyi is a Ukrainian director and cinematographer. He worked as a director of “Iron Butterflies“. He will introduce the film.
The screening is organised as a part of the exhibition "ETH with Ukraine - Exchanging Knowledge for a Sustainable Future".
