Announcement: Warmth and presents for those in need in Ukraine - Collection of humanitarian aid and Christmas gifts
This autumn, UASAZ launches a new round of humanitarian aid collection for Ukraine and a collection of gifts for children affected by the war (from the de-occupied and near-to-the-frontline cities and villages).
📆 November 14, Thursday and November 29, Friday
🕝 09:30-16:00
🏛️ SOL building of ETH Zurich (Zentrum Campus), room B4
📍 Sonneggstrasse 33, 8006 Zürich
Humanitarian aid: Like in the past two years, winter in Ukraine will be tough considering power shortages and damaged infrastructure. Therefore, there's still a critical need for warm, waterproof clothing and outdoor equipment. At our collection point, we will accept the following items:
- New socks and underwear, thermal underwear, waterproof outerwear and fleece jackets
- Gloves, hats and scarves, hiking/waterproof shoes
- Sleeping bags, tents, yoga mats, headlights, hiking/waterproof backpacks
- Power banks and solar battery chargers, portable power generators
- Medicine (pain relievers, wound care supplies, anti-flu/cold medication etc.).
Please check that the clothes and shoes are in good and clean condition!
Gifts for kids: This year, we will once again support the St. Nicholas Reindeer initiative and will collect gifts for children affected by the war which they will receive for the winter holidays. This initiative was established in 2016 in Kharkiv to bring holiday spirit (and presents!) to the kids from near-frontline settlements. Unfortunately, for the last couple of years, the initiative's geography has expanded due to the full-scale invasion, so even more kids were displaced/affected by war.
What can you bring? Toys of all kinds (new!), sweets, DIY sets - whatever you think will make kids happy.
Should you have any questions, please contact us via contact@uasaz.org, or approach one of our dedicated volunteers at the collection points. Your support and contributions are greatly appreciated, and they will make a significant difference in providing relief to those in need in Ukraine and will bring a miracle to some kids!
This event is organized by the Ukrainian Association of Students and Academics in Zurich.
