Movie Screening "20 Days in Mariupol"
The screening of "20 Days in Mariupol", one of the best documentaries in the modern world, on January 31st provided an eye-opening and shocking picture of the human tragedy that unfolded in the besieged city of Mariupol in 2022. Journalists from The Associated Press exhibited extraordinary courage by staying in Mariupol for twenty days amidst life-threatening conditions, documenting inhumane war crimes that defined the narrative of the Russian war against Ukraine.
Vasilisa Stepanenko, a Ukrainian journalist and video producer, who worked as the Field Producer for "20 Days in Mariupol," joined us for a Q&A session after the film, offering insights into the production and the harsh realities portrayed.
This screening, a crucial part of the "ETH with Ukraine - Exchanging Knowledge for a Sustainable Future" exhibition, served as an important reminder of the impact of war on human lives and the power of journalism to bring truth to the world. Our heartfelt thanks go to Vasilisa Stepanenko and our audience for their participation in this powerful and thought-provoking event.
